The United Church of Christ General Synod 21 was held in Columbus on July 3-8 (not July 12-15). The votes on the resolutions mentioned in the story took place on July 7 (not July 14).
Discussion of the arch-conservative resolution revealed strong opposition to it due to its devaluation of female clergy. As you know, the UCC has been ordaining women since the mid-19th century.
More important news, generally overlooked by the public and the lesbian and gay media, is the groundbreaking fact that on June 9, the Trustees of the Pension Boards of the United Church of Christ voted to extend medical and dental benefits under the UCC health and dental plans to same-sex domestic partners, and their dependents, throughout the church. This includes anyone who is covered in the plan-pastors, Christian educators, musicians, custodians, etc. These benefits were not extended to unmarried heterosexual couples because they have the option to legally marry.
This action, the first of its kind by any Christian denomination (a recent action by Episcopalians covers only their national staff) came nine days before the Southern Baptists voted to boycott Disney and ten days before the Southern Baptists voted to condemn all same-sex employee partner benefits in general.
You might be interested to know that the 50-voice United Church Coalition for Lesbian-Gay Concerns Choir was invited and sang at the opening Worship of the UCC General Synod. This is the third or fourth time the choir has sung at a General Synod Worship Service. The Coalition Choir is

Was [the book] found with his personal items or in the safe? Will the FBI tell the truth about this deadly book in the hands of Cunanan?
The book outline[s] ways to avoid making mistakes of several notorious killers. In addition, it provides an outline on how to gain wealth and fame, while having fun as the most elite single killer in history. Or, kill
